India and Pakistan Share Platform at IPEC (Date : 10-06-06)

IPEC, the biggest ever Real Estate and Property event is fast moving ahead. The international speakers for the conferences are confirming participation as the event date nears. Top professionals in the fields of Real Estate and Property are called to speak about their specialized fields and their relevance in the local industry.
REIT would be the centre of discussion when speakers from India and Pakistan comment on its application in the local market. From Pakistan , Mr Zaigham Rizvi, the Chairman and Managing Director of House Building Finance Corporation (HBFC), will speak on the Real Estate Investment and the role of HBFC in the property development and will also comment on the Trust as HBFC is going to float Pakistan 's first REIT. Professionally, HBFC has progressed under his guidance and has already entered into an understanding to provide technical advisory with a Malaysian Asset Management Company, which has an experience of floating many successful REITs. Mr Rizvi professional career spans over 35 years in diversified fields including development and investment banking. Mr Rizvi has always worked towards giving affordable housing to the common man through his work at the organization.
| On behalf of India , there is Mrs Renu Sud Karnad, Executive Director, Housing Development Finance Corporation, (HDFC). She confirmed her participation in IPEC Conferences last week. Her comments can help the local market regarding the application of REIT, its problems and possible solutions. Mrs Karnad joined HDFC in 1978 and has held various responsibilities in business capitals, Mumbai and Delhi apart from negotiating and finalizing financing facilities from multilateral agencies such as World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) and KfW. She started her career in the legal and credit department at HDFC and over the years has grown to become the head of lending business in the organization. This address is highly beneficial for the participants as Mrs Karnad will be able to provide first hand information regarding REIT while Mr Rizvi will inform the participants about the introduction of this Investment Trust in Pakistan .

"The objective of the International Property Exhibition and Conference being held at the Karachi Expo Centre from July 7th to 9th 2006, is to create a networking platform between International and local developers and to provide an opportunity to Pakistani developers to present their projects on an international platform," said Mr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman Butt Chairman ABAD which remains to be the only association representing Pakistan's Builders and Developers making the objective of IPEC obvious through this comment. |

When asked about a message he would like to send out to the real estate & property industry he said "I would like to send this message across to all builders and developers that they should take maximum participation in this exhibition and book as many stalls as possible to make this exhibition a resounding success"

Change of Exhibition Date (Date : 14-04-06)

The dates of IPEC (International Property Exhibition & Conference) 2006 have been changed from June 16 - 18 to July 7 - 9, 2006 . Exhibition space reserved and allocated to participants will remain unaffected. Inconvenience caused in this regard is regretted.
The change in date has been accommodated at the Export Promotion Bureau (Expo Management) due to the recent announcement of SAARC International Fair by the Government of Pakistan on the previous dates.

International Property Exhibition & Conference (Date : 27-03-06)

Set to become Pakistan 's biggest Property Show 'International Property Exhibition & Conference (IPEC)' will be held from the 16 th to 18 th of June 2006 at the Expo Centre in Karachi .
The exhibition is a step towards bringing under one roof the commercial and residential development projects, hotel and leisure developments, architects and designers, real estate marketing as well as financial products in the field of property. IPEC is the first ever exhibition of its kind being organized in Pakistan where exhibitors and professionals are expected to participate from not only Pakistan , but also the Middle East and South Asian Region .
The IPEC conferences which will be held side by side the exhibition are designed to provide a distinctive platform for property industry professionals. An ambitious 3 day program IPEC promises to bring more than 20 speakers from Pakistan and around the world to share their learning's and case studies.
